HITTING THE ROAD
The bags were packed (complete with a sack full of toys), the RV (not a sleigh) was loaded, and the girls were strapped into their seats, ready for a long winter drive; I was feeling a little like the jolly man in red. It was finally time to hit the road. I love this part of each trip we take as a family. The drive to our destination is my relaxation. Since we are in the RV, I know the rest of the family will be entertained as well.
As we drove east down I-10, my wife and I listened to the sounds of our girls laughing as we enjoyed the passing scenery. The highway can be so pretty at sunset in the small rolling hills of Mississippi. Next stop, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
